A Decision Support System for Course Materials Production and Inventory Management in the National Open University of Nigeria

This paper focuses on the design of a Decision Support System for Course Material production and inventory management in National Open University Nigeria. The proposed system has model base subsystem which is component that differentiates Systems from other types Information Systems. consists wide collection models include models, quantity forecast model. Other components including data subsystem, dialog generation users were also discussed. A prototype was developed using python programming MYSQL database server. Testing validation done sample students’ enrolment user defined inputs forecast, modules system. results tests show high level accuracy when compared with those obtained manual computations. simple, flexible can be easily modified to suit needs institutions multi-item problems.
